Mission Statement
The City Clerk's Office is committed to serving the public by:
Striving for excellence in preparation of agendas and minutes of meetings; operation of the City Hall mail center; and providing complete and accurate information while preserving the records of the city and maintaining a professional level of service in all phases of operation.
WHAT WE DO:
AGENDAS - CITY COUNCIL, BOARDS and COMMITTEES: The City Clerk's Office is responsible for the distribution of all City Council, Planning & Zoning Board, Code Enforcement Board, Contractors' Examining Board, Municipal Police Officers Retirement Trust Fund Board, and Economic Growth Team , Civil Service Appeals Board, Board of Adjustments and Appeals, Board of Zoning Appeals, Safety Review Board Agendas.
MINUTES:
The City Clerk's Office is responsible for recording and providing an accurate transcription of all City Council meeting minutes. They also do the same for the City's various boards and committees. Copies of the transcribed minutes are available through the Clerk's office approximately one week after the meeting at cost of 15 cents per page.
INFORMATION SERVICES:
Requests for information and research on all matters pertaining to the City of Port St. Lucie are processed in the City Clerk's Office. Most simple questions can usually be answered by telephone, ex: "Who is my Councilperson?", or "When is the next Council meeting and where will it be held?" To obtain other information , ex: "When was the last time the noise ordinance was amended and may I have a copy of that Ordinance?", or "Does the City have a leash law and may I have a copy?", the process is simple. Just come to the City Clerk's Office located on the 1st floor of City Hall and fill out a Request for Information Form. These information requests are usually filled while you wait and the copying cost is 15 cents per page. Requests for information taken after 4:30 p.m. will be processed the following day. Extensive research requests are filled in accordance with Florida Statute, Chapter 119.
CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES
The Clerk's Office maintains the City Code Book which is available to the public for reading or research during regular business hours.
ELECTION SERVICES:
The Clerk's Office serves as the Elections Official for the City of Port St. Lucie which includes Council seats, Referendums, and Charter Petitions.
