Animal Control Officers in the City of Port St Lucie are empowered by the State of Florida to enforce local, county and State Statutes adopted by the City or assigned to them.  All officers are State Certified by the Florida Animal Control Association (F.A.C.A.) to serve our community as professional Animal Control Officers.  Officers respond to all calls concerning citizen complaints.  These calls for service are either dispatched through 9-1-1 or taken via telephone by our office staff

Animal Control Staff

The Animal Control Department is comprised of a supervisor, eleven animal control officers, two clerical staff members and kennel staff.
Animal Control Officers work seven days a week and are available after hours for emergency call-outs.  Emergency call outs are made through dialing 9-1-1 during the evening hours to provide 24 hour service to the community.  Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
