City Seeks Unpaid Volunteer for Contractors’ Examining Board
The City of Port St. Lucie is accepting applications for a voluntary, unpaid position on the Contractors' Examining Board. The Board is appointed by the City Council to pass on applications for contractors’ certificates of competency, as well as to hear complaints against local contractors. The Board meets on the second Thursday of each month at 10 a.m.
The Board consists of seven members, and terms are for three years. Members are subject to the provisions of the Sunshine Law and serve on a voluntary basis. Applicants shall hold either a current Florida state contractor’s license or a certificate of competency issued by the City of Port St. Lucie and shall also carry valid insurance and Workers’ Compensation (except for consumer members, also known as lay members).
The position open is for a general contractor or building contractor.
