Shed Requirements
To obtain a permit for a pre-fabricated shed you will need to do the following:
- Fill out Building Permit Application
- Obtain 2 sets of manufacture specifications from the place of purchase.
- Bring in 2 copies of an existing survey, draw where you will be placing the shed.
- If there will be electric, an electric sub contractor permit needs to be obtained.
- Cash or Check for $65.00 additional $75.00 if slab is required.
To obtain a permit for a workshop or shed that you plan to build you will need the following:
- Fill out Building Permit Application
- Obtain 2 sets of Signed and Sealed drawings from Architect or Engineer. ( as a courtesy, we have available plans for a 14x14 shed that you are welcome to use.)
- Need Truss cut-sheets and layout from truss company.
- Bring in 2 copies of an existing survey, draw where you will be placing the shed.
- If there will be electric, an electric sub contractor permit needs be obtained.

Cash or Check for sheds 196 sq. ft or less the fee is $100.00 for sheds 197 sq. ft or more the fee is $125.00. Plus an additional $75.00 for slab and $75.00 for electric (if applicable).
Pre-fabricated sheds on skids shall be a minimum of 10 feet from the rear property line and side property line. All sheds on slabs cannot be located in the rear property easement and shall be a minimum of 10 feet from the side property line.
Accessory buildings, sheds and workshops in excess of 300 sq feet shall conform in appearance, materials and design of the principal structure. Maximum size for all accessory buildings, sheds and workshops is 500 sq feet.
People CANNOT live in accessory buildings, sheds or workshops.
