To obtain a permit for a pre-fabricated shed you will need to do the following:
Fill out Building Permit Application
Obtain two sets of manufacture specifications from place of purchase
Bring in two copies of an existing survey, and draw where you will be placing the shed
If there will be electric, an electric subcontractor permit needs to be obtained
Submit permit to clerk along with applicable fees
To obtain a permit for a workshop or shed that you plan to build you will need the following:
Fill out Building Permit Application
Obtain two sets of Signed and Sealed drawings from an architect or engineer
Need truss cut-sheets and layout from truss company
Bring in two copies of an existing survey, and draw where you will be placing the shed
If there will be electric, an electric subcontractor permit must be obtained
Submit permit to clerk along with applicable fees
Pre-fabricated sheds on skids shall be a minimum of 10 feet from the rear property line and side property line. Sheds on slabs cannot be located in the rear property easement and shall be a minimum of 10 feet from the side property line.
Accessory buildings, sheds and workshops in excess of 300 square feet shall conform in appearance, materials and design to the principal structure. The maximum size for all accessory buildings, sheds and workshops is 500 square feet.
People cannot live in accessory buildings, sheds or workshops.
All fees are payable by check or cash.
