Port St. Lucie City Manager Gregory J. Oravec on Tuesday, May 8 appointed Acting Assistant Chief John Bolduc as acting chief of police. The appointment becomes effective Monday, May 14.
Oravec made the appointment based on the recommendation of current Chief of Police Brian Reuther, who is retiring at the end of the month after serving the city for nearly 32 years.
Bolduc has been serving as acting assistant chief since the department was reorganized last month. Prior to the reorganization, Bolduc served as acting regional captain and as a shift commander in patrol. He has worked in various capacities in the police department for 17 years, holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Until his retirement date, Reuther will continue working with Bolduc to ensure a smooth transition.
