| City Manager Gregory J. Oravec press conference, May 3, 2012 8 minutes, 54 seconds |
Port St. Lucie City Manager Gregory J. Oravec held a press conference on Thursday, May 3 to answer questions about a lawsuit filed by six former city police employees whose attorney held a press conference earlier in the day.
Oravec opened the conference by reading a prepared statement and then answered questions from several news reporters. Because the city had not yet been served with an official copy of the suit, Oravec would not speculate about the lawsuit’s allegations, however, he addressed complaints the former employees’ attorney made earlier in the week in a letter to the city.
Oravec emphasized that the ongoing restructuring of several city departments, including the police department, is legal, proper and necessary to ensure the continuation of efficient services to citizens.
