Contract appointing Chief Bolduc goes to Council Monday

On Monday, Aug. 13, Port St. Lucie City Manager Gregory J. Oravec will present the City Council with an employment contract that, if approved, will formally appoint John Bolduc as the city’s eighth chief of police.

The contract specifies the chief’s salary, the duration of employment, conditions for extensions and cancellations, a severance package and other details.

Oravec said Chief Bolduc has demonstrated many important qualities, including a commitment to ethics, accountability and a passion for the community.

“Though it had unexpected twists and turns, the completed national search served a purpose,” Oravec said. “It provided the opportunity to find the right person for the job and that person is John A. Bolduc.”
