Art Gallery: Call for Artists

August 8, 2008
Dear Artist:
We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the City of Port St. Lucie’s newest facility, the Port St. Lucie Civic Center, located at 9221 S.E. Civic Center Place, Port St. Lucie, FL 34952. This facility is the anchor of our new downtown area, the Port St. Lucie City Center.
The Port St. Lucie Civic Center is a state-of-the-art facility like no other on the Treasure Coast. The 100,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose facility is scheduled to open December 2008, housing a traditional recreational center and banquet facility. This center will also house our 2,000 sq. ft. Art Gallery and will offer local and regional artists a professional venue in which to display their artwork. Rotating exhibitions will bring new life and vitality to the Art Gallery and expose visitors to new techniques, ideas and the love of art.
This letter is to invite you to submit your artwork for exhibition beginning December 2008. We will offer six (6) week exhibitions thru-out the year, the ability to sell your renderings and souvenirs and an Artist Reception with live music, light fare and beverages at the open of each exhibit. If you are interested in showcasing your talent(s), we have included a copy of the application stating the submittal process. Once we have juried all works, we may contact you to extend a contract should you be interested in exhibiting at our Art Gallery. As stated above, we are looking to have an exhibition installed and ready to open on December 1, 2008 and plan to schedule up to three (3) or more months in advance. If you are interested in exhibiting your work during the months of December 2008 thru March 2009, please return the application at your earliest convenience but no later than Friday, September 26, 2008; if you are interested in exhibiting your work after March 2009, please return the application at any time. Applications click here will be accepted anytime thru-out the year.
To help you envision what the center looks like, we invite you to observe the construction in progress and artist renderings of this spectacular facility on our website at www.cityofpsl.com/civic.
Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact any one of us. We anticipate hearing from you soon and welcome your thoughts, ideas and suggestions.
Sincerely,
Tonya Taylor
