Audio/Visual Coordinator
Born in Oakridge, Tenn., Robert’s early years were spent in many American “hometowns” as his was a military family. As a proud resident of Port St. Lucie for 19 years, Robert has enjoyed a number of educational experiences here.
Robert’s high school years were highlighted by educational opportunities in the area of web design, graphic design and basic programming. Volunteerism has always been an integral part of Robert’s multi-faceted life, and, in high school, Robert volunteered with a small business computer company. There, Robert gleaned experience in the design, construction and networking of a six-unit computer system.
After graduating from Morningside Academy in Port St. Lucie, Robert worked for five years as a shift manager in a small retail business. At that job, Robert assisted in advertising and marketing and the set-up of a computer-based point-of-sale system.
In his spare time, Robert volunteers at his church’s youth group. His involvement with the youth group is primarily in the areas of audio/visual production and concert production. Robert is also an avid photographer and gifted musician.
Robert has a variety of different roles at the Civic Center, both behind the scenes and interacting with the public. He designs tickets for box office sales and for in-house ads, and he coordinates all audio/visual requests made by clients who rent space at the Civic Center facility. Robert is also the Civic Center’s in-house photographer, designs and producers program flyers and designs and formats the monthly calendar of events that guests can pick up in the Civic Center lobby. As if that isn’t enough to keep Robert busy, he also finds time to address the questions of guests visiting or calling the Civic Center, always doing so with his warm smile and charming demeanor.
Robert is grateful to the supervisors and managers at the Civic Center for this award. He is also thankful for his co-workers at the Civic Center who make every day at work enjoyable.
