May’s After 5 LIVE! to include Bench Press and Power Competition

The Port St. Lucie Civic Center’s Fitness Center is proud to announce its “Bench Press and Power Competition,” to be held in conjunction with After 5 LIVE! on Friday, May 14. The competition will begin at 6 p.m. 

The contest, for those 15 years and older, will consist of two separate competitions: a bench press-only division, with each lifter making three attempts to lift their maximum weight; and a full-power division, with lifters competing in both the bench press and the squat and dead lift. All lifts will be judged, with the single best attempt counted. 

The competitions will be in two weight classes; one for those individuals weighing more than 200 pounds and one for those 200 pounds and under. Awards will be given for first, second and third place in each division. 

All lifters must be present before 5:30 p.m. for weigh-in. Early registration is recommended, as available spots fill up quickly. The fee to enter only the bench press competition is $30. The entry fee for the full competition is $35. Civic Center Fitness Center members receive a $10 discount. 

After 5 LIVE! and the Bench Press and Power Competition will be held at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center’s Village Square, 9221 S.E. Civic Center Place (southeast corner of U.S. 1 and Walton Road).
