The City of Port St. Lucie’s annual Independence Day Freedomfest celebration will begin Wednesday, July 4, at 2 p.m. outside the Civic Center and will provide a day of patriotic fun, music and food for people of all ages.
A family-friendly tradition in Port St. Lucie for many years, Freedomfest is one of the city’s biggest annual social events. This year, the event will include a booth where residents can learn about the city’s future Sept. 11 Memorial and make a contribution to its construction. Work has begun on the project and will be complete by Sept. 11 of this year.
To encourage donations, several businesses have donated items and services to be raffled:
Live entertainment at Freedomfest will be provided by SOLID GOLD and local children’s groups from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Martin Health System Village Square.
There will be bounce houses, arts and crafts vendors, free face painting, caricature drawings, a balloon artist and more.
Admission and parking are free.
For the best seating and great food, the Freedomfest VIP party will feature an all-you-can-eat barbecue starting at 7 p.m. on the back patio of the Civic Center—in clear view of the fireworks display.
Tickets for the VIP Party cost $20 for adults and $10 for children 4 to 10 years old. Admission for children three and younger is free.
The Martin Health System Village Square and the Port St. Lucie Civic Center are on the southeast corner of U.S. Highway 1 and Walton Road. Call (772) 807-4499 for more information.
