The Port St. Lucie Civic Center’s Village Square will be the setting for a moving 9/11 Memorial Tribute that will include a two-week photograph and memorabilia exhibit in the center’s Art Gallery. The tribute will begin with a ceremony at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11.
The ceremony marking the opening of the exhibit will include the ringing of bells at designated times, several guest speakers, the beautiful music of bagpipes, a rifle salute, the Presentation of Colors, the playing of Taps, and more.
Organizers of the 9/11 Memorial Tribute are seeking from the public photographs and other artifacts related to that fateful day, to be displayed in the Art Gallery during the two-week exhibition. Artwork for the Art Gallery exhibit must be submitted by Sept. 9.
Anyone who suffered a personal loss on Sept. 11, 2001 because of the terrorists’ actions that day are invited to attend and be seated in a designated area in Village Square, to honor their loved ones.
