Port St. Lucie’s annual Festival of Lights will take place for the first time at the city’s brand-new Civic Center, on Saturday, Dec. 6 beginning at noon and ending with a fabulous fireworks display in the evening, all to ring in the holiday season with fun for kids of all ages.
During the afternoon, children can enjoy carnival rides and a visit with Santa at 1 p.m., and all festival-goers will enjoy live music, delicious food, and arts and crafts from many vendors. At 5:30 p.m., the Parade of Lights begins, complete with professionally-built floats, youth groups and local bands. Twenty-five minutes after the parade ends, the fireworks begin. Best of all, admission to all the day’s events is free.
The Civic Center is located at 9221 S.E. Civic Center Place (on the southeast corner of U.S. Highway 1 and Walton Road). Click here for a map of the parade route. More information on this and other events at the Civic Center may be found at www.cityofpsl.com/civic.
