The Civic Center will again be jumping with the music of the Port St. Lucie Community Band. Directors Stephen Torick and Kate Torick, are proud to present "The Sounds of Brass" on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Emerald Ballroom.
The concert will feature a Canadian Brass arrangement of Red, White and Brass, a medley of American music. Also featured will be Tommy Dorsey’s arrangements, including American Civil War Fantasy, an arrangement which depicts a Civil War battle through a medley of familiar tunes of the mid-19th century such as Listen to the Mocking Bird; Dixie; Camptown Races; John Brown's Body and more.
The St. Lucie Horns, a French Horn Quartet, will lead off the second half of the program, and the concert will conclude with one of America’s favorite musical selections, the Armed Forces Salute, honoring our veterans and those currently serving in the military.
Tickets are required and are available for $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at the Civic Center and the Port St. Lucie Community Center, 2195 S.E. Airoso Blvd (cash only, please).
