The Port St. Lucie Community Band, under the direction of Stephen Torick, will present "Holiday Sounds" on Sunday, Dec. 6, in the Emerald Ballroom of the Civic Center. For the first time, the band will hold two performances; the first at 2 p.m. and the second at 7 p.m., and concert-goers will have the opportunity to enjoy a buffet before each performance.
The concerts will feature announcer Carl Eilenberg narrating, “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Other selections include Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride and Christmas Festival and Laughing All the Way —a contemporary new arrangement based on Jingle Bells. Port St. Lucie Community Band's new Big Band ensemble, The Ambassadors of Swing, under the direction of Bob Carabia, will also take the stage.
The concerts will conclude with one of America's favorite musical selections, the Armed Forces Salute, honoring our veterans and those currently serving in the military.
Tickets are required and are available at $3 for a single ticket or $5 for two for the concert only. Children 12 and under are admitted for free. Tickets may be purchased at the Civic Center, 9221 S.E. Civic Center Place (the corner of U.S. 1 and Walton Road), and the Port St. Lucie Community Center, 2195 S.E. Airoso Blvd. (cash only, please).
An exciting addition to this year’s concert is a pre-show buffet; lunch which begins at noon before the 2 p.m. performance and dinner, with cash bar, beginning at 5 p.m., before the 7 p.m. performance.
