Massage therapy
Massage therapy services are available in our fitness center. Treat yourself to a uniquely tranquil experience—a relaxing massage by one of our highly-skilled massage therapists who are well-versed in a variety of massage disciplines.
This service is available to both members and non-members of the Civic Center.
We have six massage therapists available, so there is ample opportunity to take advantage of their services. We offer a variety of therapies from which to choose, including:
- Reflexology is a discipline that focuses on pressure points specific to the foot. Treatment techniques are geared to relieve stress, improve the body’s immune system and assist with total body relaxation.
- Traction Massage assists in stress relief and tension throughout the head, neck, shoulders and upper back. Techniques involve elongated strokes that act as a traction mechanism to relieve pressure along the spinal cord. The treatment also includes a comprehensive scalp massage.
- Extremely Rejuvenation treats your feet, hands, neck and head to a rejuvenating massage. The extremity massage pinpoints specific anatomical locations that become fatigued from the daily grind of every day life.
- Swedish Massage is a full body treatment that uses a blend of Swedish and circular massage strokes designed to improve the body’s circulation, relieve muscle tension and reduce stress.
- Sports Massage is for those who are interested in dramatically increasing the quality of your work-out and physical health. Inflammation and pain from lactic acid and too much muscle strain is a cause for premature aging. Muscle imbalances are also the cause for many headaches and pain throughout your body.
- Effusion Massage is a combination of Swedish and deep tissue massage that involves deep kneading, rolling and stretching techniques using the massage therapist’s palms and forearms.
- Pregnancy Massage is a relaxing massage for expectant mothers. This massage is performed while the mother-to-be is lying on her side. This prenatal therapy provides focused attention to the lower back, pelvic girdle and legs with elongated, soothing strokes for complete relaxation of the mind and body. Second and third trimester only.
- Deep Tissue Massage is a treatment more intense in nature, focusing on tension knots and areas of chronic stress, resulting in advanced stress relief for the individual.
- Hot Stone Massage is a combination of warm stones and the massage therapist’s fluid strokes, as both create a state of relaxation and calmness. The stones are utilized and placed along the lymph passages, assisting your body in ridding itself of toxins and helping you feel rejuvenated.
Please feel free to discuss your treatment goals with your therapist so he or she can meet your highest expectations. To ensure your privacy, our therapists make certain your body is draped at all times.
