On behalf of the City of Port St. Lucie and the Code Enforcement Division, we would like to enlist your help in keeping Port St. Lucie a beautiful and enjoyable place to live and work. The information on these pages is provided to enhance understanding and cooperation between the Code Enforcement Division and the residents of Port St. Lucie.
Code Enforcement Officers are empowered by the State of Florida to enforce local, county and state statutes adopted by the city or assigned to them. Officers respond to anonymous complaints and perform routine patrols to investigate violations. Complaints can be made via e-mail, telephone, or letter. It is important to note that complaint information, including complainant's information, is public record and subject to public record requests; however, complaints can be made anonymously.
The mission of the Code Enforcement Division is to enforce the codes of the city in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of the community; and, where violations occur, to work with our citizens to achieve compliance through an efficient and fair process.
Simply stated, code enforcement is for the common good. These rules and regulations have been enacted by the city to help ensure attractive neighborhoods, vibrant businesses, and a peaceful and enjoyable community for everyone.
