Council plans public meeting on Neighborhood Stabilization Plan 2
Posted: June 25, 2009
The Port St. Lucie City Council will hold a public meeting on July 13 about the draft application for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2 (NSP-2).
The city will request $11,297,000 in NSP-2 funds in order to further address the problem of abandoned and foreclosed homes in the City of Port St. Lucie. The application is due to HUD by July 17.
All benefits of the program must go to households earning less than 120 percent of the median income. Also there is a provision that at least 25 percent of the funds must be expended for very-low income households—those earning less than 50 percent of the median income.
Anyone interested may review the NSP-2 Draft Substantial Amendment online or in person at the Community Services Department, room 221 in City Hall, at 121 S.E. Port St. Lucie Boulevard.
The city will accept written comments about the draft plan until 5 p.m., July 14. Written comments must be sent to the Community Services Department at City Hall.
Comments also can be made in person to the City Council at the July 13 meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
