The Humane Society of St. Lucie County is in a national contest to win $10,000, and votes from Port St. Lucie residents are needed to help the organization win. City residents are encouraged to participate because the funding helps the Humane Society in its efforts to reduce stray animals locally.
The top 10 winning animal welfare organizations will be determined by the number of votes received on Petco Foundation’s Facebook page. To vote, click “like” and then click on the “100 Celebrations” graphic just below the "like" button, and click “Vote to Save Lives.” The 100 Celebrations partners are listed by name in alphabetical order, with a “vote” button under each shelter’s photo (the Humane Society of St. Lucie County is on page 7). Every person can vote once per day until Oct. 5.
The top 10 vote-getters will each be awarded $10,000.
