The Port St. Lucie Police Department wants residents to protect themselves from increasingly sophisticated crimes of fraud, and are urging citizens to attend the Fraud Symposium scheduled for Wednesday, July 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Port St. Lucie Community Center.
There is no cost to attend the symposium. Topics include techniques to prevent: identity theft; work-at-home, secret shopper and foreign lotto schemes; theft of credit and debit card information; and mortgage and real estate fraud. Participants will also learn how to recognize counterfeit money and credit cards and much more.
The Community Center is located at 2195 S.E. Airoso Blvd. Pre-registration is not required.
