The Friends of the Port St. Lucie Botanical Garden will be hosting a plant sale on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the site of the new Botanical Gardens on the west side of Westmoreland Boulevard, just south of Port St. Lucie Boulevard.
This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase plants and related items for your garden from local nurseries and growers and to get expert advice from master gardeners and growers. You will also have the chance to tour the site and review plans for the Gardens.
The Gardens will be set on 10 acres of city-owned property and will include facilities for educational presentations, a lake for small boats and other nature-oriented amenities.
For more information about the plant sale, call (772) 398-0707. To join the Friends of the Port St. Lucie Botanical Garden, e-mail Councilman Christopher Cooper at pslbotanicalgard@aol.com or call him at (772) 871-5159.
