City Council’s Annual two-day Winter Meeting scheduled for Thursday and Friday, Feb. 28 and 29
The Port St. Lucie City Council will hold their annual two-day planning session, known as the winter retreat, on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 28 and 29 in the Community Center on Airoso Boulevard. The meetings will start at 8:30 a.m. both days and will continue into the late afternoon. On Thursday, the Council will hold an extensive discussion with city staff members about what will be required to make Port St. Lucie a great city in years to come, and how those goals can be reached. On Friday the Council will hear an extensive report on the city’s budget and an update on the latest information about progress on the future botanical garden, the Civic Center, employee health clinic, and sidewalk construction. They also will hear from staff about issues relating to the city’s stormwater drainage system and landscaping on city streets. The meetings will be open to the public both days, but unlike regular Council meetings, the public will not be able address the Council or raise issues for discussion. The meetings are intended only for the Council to hear from staff and expert consultants, not the general public. Unlike Council meetings at City Hall, the retreat meetings cannot be aired live from the Community Center, but both meetings will be played in their entirety on PSL TV20 beginning Saturday.
