The St. Lucie County Health Department has announced the second of several H1N1 vaccination stations for St. Lucie County residents. This round of vaccinations is only for those at highest risk of contracting the virus. The date is Saturday, Nov. 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or until vaccine supplies are exhausted) at the St. Lucie County Logistics Center, 3855 South U.S. 1 in Fort Pierce (approximately one mile north of Midway Road).
Those eligible to receive the vaccination in this round are those at highest risk for severe complications from H1N1 (formerly known as the swine flu):
The next round of vaccinations will be held Saturday, Nov. 21 at the same location and time. The vaccination campaign will last for several months, and residents will be notified when additional stations are scheduled. Due to limited supplies of the vaccine at this time, the health department is vaccinating only those who fall into one of the above groups and who do not have access to the vaccine through their physician.
