Don’t be surprised if you see lots of television cameras in town in the next week.
HGTV, the popular home improvement and decorating channel, has chosen Tradition in Port St. Lucie as the spot to build their 2009 Green Home, and construction has already begun on the environmentally-friendly house. HGTV’s Web site, www.hgtv.com/green-home contains a beautiful video that describes the reasons HGTV chose Port St. Lucie and the Town of Tradition development as the place to build the home. The Web site will update viewers regularly on the progress of the home, and those interested in entering the sweepstakes to win the house should keep an eye on that Web site in coming weeks for details on how to enter the sweepstakes.
In the meantime, HGTV’s production company will be in town to meet with Mayor Patricia Christensen, tour eco-friendly sections of the city, and gather video footage that will be shown on their Web site as construction on the home progresses. In addition, the city’s own PSL-TV20 will show highlights of HGTV’s visit, so tune in regularly to watch. Comcast and Hometown cable subscribers in Port St. Lucie can view the programming on television, and both live feeds and archived footage of PSL-TV20 programming can always been viewed on our Web site at www.cityofpsl.com/communications.
