There’s no reason to miss any of Port St. Lucie’s public meetings or fun events anymore, with the addition of a new interactive calendar to the city’s Web site.
The home page now features a clickable calendar icon and a scrolling display of city-run and city-sponsored events. By clicking on the icon, viewers can go to the calendar page, which can be displayed in monthly, weekly or daily formats, or as a list of upcoming events.
Viewers can click on any event in the scroll display or on the calendar, and a window will open with event details, location, times, contact information and links to related Web resources.
Events are color-coded and categorized as public meetings, general events or Civic Center events, and viewers can choose to see one category at a time or all categories together.
Also available is an option to set a reminder, which will send an e-mail to the viewer at any date and time the viewer chooses, and a feature to download the event information to the individual user’s personal calendar.
Other features include an option to search for events by keywords or by date, links to MapQuest maps showing event locations and a print button to take a copy to go.
The calendar was added in response to City Council requests for a centralized place to keep track of all the many important meetings and fun events run by the city.
