Mayor Patricia P. Christensen was on hand to cut the ribbon that formally marked the opening of the long-awaited Martin Memorial Emergency Center at St. Lucie West. The doors to the new facility open Sept. 1.
This 12-bed facility boasts a staff of at least one physician, 3 registered nurses, two ER technicians and a respiratory therapist, all set to meet the emergency needs of nearby residents and providing access to timely emergency care. Inpatient beds are not provided, so patients requiring inpatient admission will be transported to a hospital.
The 9,100-square foot emergency center is located at 1095 N.W. St. Lucie West Blvd. and will be open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
