The Port St. Lucie Police Department wants residents to protect themselves from increasingly sophisticated crimes of fraud, and are urging citizens to attend the free Fraud Symposium scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Port St. Lucie Community Center.
Topics include techniques to prevent identity theft; work-at-home, secret shopper and foreign lotto schemes; theft of credit and debit card information; and mortgage and real estate fraud. Participants will also learn how to recognize counterfeit money, credit cards and much more, all in an effort to protect citizens from becoming victims of fraud.
The Community Center is located at 2195 S.E. Airoso Blvd. Pre-registration is not required.
