Emergency Management

The emergency management team would like to help you prepare and protect your family and property in the event a hurricane or other natural or man-made disaster threatens our area.

Navigating our site

On the left-hand side of this Web page, you will find links to information which will be helpful in preparing for and dealing with the aftermath of disasters that may befall our area.

Since hurricanes are one of the main concerns to residents of our region, we encourage you to download the most recent edition of our Hurricane & Emergency Preparedness Guide.

As a storm approaches, you will want to consult the weather resources we have collected, and consult the hurricane evacuation zone viewer, which contains updated information about shelter locations, evacuation and storm surge zones, and evacuation routes.

In the event that a storm or other disaster immediately threatens our area, be sure to check back to this page, which will feature "Current Updates" providing quick links to information that you will find especially useful in preparing yourself for such threats.

We have also identified proven resources for disaster assistance that we hope you will find helpful.

Finally, we encourage all of our residents to sign up for the First Call emergency notification system that provides instant alerts from the county's Emergency Command Center in the event of a hurricane or other disaster.

We encourage you to browse these pages well in advance of any disaster or storm event so that you and your family can be prepared and safe.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions at (772) 871-5100.
