Crosstown Parkway opens from Bayshore to Manth

Posted: October 3, 2008

A major segment of the Crosstown Parkway east of Bayshore Boulevard is now open, making it possible to drive from Cashmere Boulevard in St. Lucie West to Manth Lane near Floresta Drive in just a few minutes.  The project was completed 5 months early.

The six-lane road has few intersections and no commercial driveways, and allows a convenient alternative to using often congested Port St. Lucie Boulevard to the south and St. Lucie West Boulevard to the north.

All segments of the Crosstown Parkway have decorative landscaping and street lighting, as well as wide walking paths that form a park stretching several miles across most of the city.

Work continues on the planning process for the segment from Manth to U.S. Highway 1, bridging the St. Lucie River, and other segments from California to I-95, including an interchange, will be open late next year.
