Building Department is responsible for the following tasks related to addressing in the City of Port St. Lucie:

  • Assign all new addresses for the entire city.

The purpose of assigning street names and address numbers is to assist the general public and private sector in locating individual streets, buildings, and places in an easy and logical manner. This is also for the protection of health and safety of all persons living, working or visiting the City of Port St. Lucie.

  • Solve issues with problem or questionable addresses located within the city limits

All structures addressed must be identified by the numeric address provided and "displayed in a manner to be easily accessible and visible" from the adjacent road, street, or highway. This is to be displayed for emergency personnel and the general public. Refer to City  Ordinance 09-80. Sec. 41.10. C. 1-4

  • Correct/Change any necessary addresses.

  • Provide correct address information to other government agencies, utilities and private companies. (Property owner names are not included with this information.)
