Free Hazardous Household Waste Day Set for Jan. 26
The City in conjunction with the Keep Port St. Lucie Beautiful Committee will be holding another free Hazardous Household Waste Drop-off Day on Saturday, Jan. 26, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the City’s Public Works complex at 450 Thornhill Drive. The event makes it easy for residents to get rid of their unwanted household chemicals and waste by providing a convenient place and time where the materials can be handed over to experts — free of charge — for proper disposal.
Residents can drop off:
Cleaning fluids
Bug sprays
Batteries
Flammable chemicals, fuel
Automotive fluids, etc.
Old computers and electronics.
Fluorescent light bulbs
Propane
Mercury-filled thermometers and thermostats
Pool chemicals
Aerosol cans
Photographic chemicals
Tires
Items NOT accepted:
Paint
Biomedical wastes
Ammunition
Explosives
Gun powder
Dynamite
Flares
