Keep Port St. Lucie Beautiful Delivers Green Message to School Children
As part of its on going effort to raise environmental awareness, the Keep Port St. Lucie Beautiful Committee funded 20,000 educational environmental supplements that were recently distributed to Port St. Lucie school children, grades K-6. This project was made possible through a partnership with the Scripps Newspapers In Education Program. KPSLB wants area students to learn how they can protect the environment, reduce waste and have fun at the same time. The supplements are filled with fun facts related to conserving water, stopping pollution, reducing waste, protecting wildlife, recycling and much more. The supplements, titled “Earth Month," were approved by the St. Lucie County School Board Science Curriculum Specialist and incorporated into the regular classroom science curriculum.
