At the regular meeting of Port St. Lucie City Council on Jan. 26, Bank of America presented a check for $657,207 to the city’s Office of Management and Budget. The money is a rebate from the bank for the city’s use of electronic banking, which eliminates the need for paper transactions, and saves taxpayer money.
When presenting the check to OMB Deputy Director Cheryl Shanaberger and her staff, Bank of America representatives said the city’s OMB office has one of the most innovative and effective purchasing programs in the country.
“This check will almost pay for 100 percent of OMB’s budget,” said Don Cooper, City Manager.
