Port St. Lucie’s Office of Management and Budget has announced the scheduling of several workshops for vendors interested in working on the rehabilitation of properties under the city’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program.
The City was recently allocated $13.5 million by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the purchase of foreclosed or abandoned homes. Under this program, HUD requires that the NSP funds be used to acquire, rehabilitate, demolish, and redevelop foreclosed and abandoned residential properties in order to help stabilize neighborhoods.
Using local geographical preferences in the city’s evaluation of bids or proposals is prohibited under HUD’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program. For that reason, both local and out-of-town contractors are welcome to apply.
The one-hour workshops will be held in the conference room of the OMB office, located in City Hall, Building A, 121 S.W. Port St. Lucie Blvd. Workshops will be held every Friday until further notice in one-hour sessions. The workshop times are 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. There is no fee for the workshops, but pre-registration is required by e-mailing Gina Jolly at gjolly@cityofpsl.com.
