POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE 2007 AWARD WINNERS

The Police Athletic League is proud to have many individuals whose contributions make it a successful organization. PAL is proud to recognize the individuals and businesses that were our award winners for the 2007 calendar year.

Volunteer of the Year VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

PAL is proud to recognize Scott Loven as our 2007 Volunteer of the Year.Throughout the year, PAL conducts many activities for kids that require extra help to make the activity run smoothly.  From Hot Shot competitions, to cooking for our boxing tournaments, to manning an information table at an event, Scott Loven rarely says no to PAL.  His son Michael can often be found volunteering with him. We thank Scott and Michael for all of their help.

CORPORATION OF THE YEAR

Anthony’s Pizza, located in Victoria Square, has been recognized as PAL’s Corporation of the Year for all of the support it provides.  For the past six years, owner, Lou Perrotta has supplied pizzas for any and all events sponsored by PAL at no charge or at greatly reduced cost. Whether it is a boxing match, team party, or other PAL function, Anthony’s Pizza has always come through with the delicious pizzas that contribute to the success of the event. We appreciate their unqualified and continuous support.

YOUTHS OF THE YEAR

Two PAL athletes will share the honor of the 2007 Youth of the Year. Both have distinguished themselves by demonstrating the core values of the Police Athletic League, which include discipline, respect, sportsmanship, and good academic standing at school.

Bryan had two major sponsors who helped him, his coach Bill Corbett, and his dad, Coach Byron Zamora attend the event in Missouri.  Davis Electric and Mike Dundee made major contributions that made the trip possible.

NICHOLAS CHIN - A STATE and REGIONAL CHAMPION!

Regional ChampionOn February 23, PAL boxer Nicholas Chin, 18, traveled to Augusta, GA and won the 125 lb. weight class at the annual Men’s and Women’s Tournament, a tournament known as an open door for all men who want to be considered for the United States Olympic team.
