The S.A.F.E. Program is a 2-hour women's personal safety program offered the the Port St. Lucie Police Department as a community service crime prevention program.
The S.A.F.E. Program was developed by the National Self-Defense Institute Inc., a 501c(3) non-profit corporation and was established to give Public Safety Departments the opportunity to educate and share vital information about personal safety to their respective communities.
What is the S.A.F.E. Program ?
- A two (2) hour long self-defense awareness and familiarization exchange program
- A method of distributing crime prevention information for home study and reference.
- A pre-basic familiarization with physical training methods.
What are the S.A.F.E. Program Objectives ?
- To create an opportunity for participants to receive information that may reduce their risk of exposure to violence.
- To create an opportunity for participants to familiarize themselves with the possibility of future physical skills training.
The S.A.F.E. Program is offered to groups of individuals, social or business groups and professional organizations. Classes are scheduled by request or based on demand and open class dates will be offered periodically by the Police Dept.
