Weekend events at Botanical Gardens include plant sale and Halloween fun

Weekend events planned at the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens will include the Magical Mystery Plant Sale and More on Saturday, and the Third Annual BOO-tanical Halloween Celebration on Sunday.

Saturday’s sale starts at 9 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. As the last in the 2012 Mini Plant Sale Series, it will include vendors with small plants and other garden items. Shoppers can meet with gardening associations, and a 10 percent gift shop discount will be offered.

The plant sale and gift shop will be a great place to start holiday shopping while enjoying the fall weather. The event is free and donations always appreciated.

On Sunday, the BOO-tanical Halloween Celebration runs from 2 to 4 p.m. Costumes are encouraged to make the event more fun. There will be games, cookie decorating, relay races, crafts, music and more for kids 12 and under and their families. Tootsie pop spiders are the new craft this year, and the Zombie dance will be taught.
