Lots of Halloween fun for kids on their next day off from school

Posted: Oct. 13, 2009

Kids are already looking forward to their next day off from school on Friday, Oct. 30. Now parents can look forward to treating their children to a day of fun, thanks to two programs offered by the City of Port St. Lucie.

“Camp Kids Day Out” is for children ages 6 to 11. Held at the Minsky Gym from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the cost is just $14.35. On Friday, Oct. 30, the Halloween-themed day will offer the children games, play-time at Whispering Pines Park and a Halloween treat.

At the Port St. Lucie Civic Center, children ages 6 to 15 can enjoy “After the Bell,” also held from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Children in this program are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes. The day will include a mummy-wrap relay, trick or treating in the Civic Center and face painting.

Keep an eye on the city’s calendar for future “Camp Kids Day Out” and “After the Bell” programs, both held on days when public schools are closed for the day, or take a look at all the programs Port St. Lucie has to offer in the “Leisure Time” magazine. Please note that the programs are not held on city-wide holidays when city buildings and offices are closed.
