Friends of Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens introduce new Web site

Posted: January 5, 2009

As the city’s new Botanical Gardens move closer to a lush reality, residents can follow its progress by visiting a new Web site, www.pslbotanicalgardens.org.

Almost 20 acres of property west of Westmoreland Boulevard and south of Port St. Lucie Boulevard is the site of the gardens.  Once completed, the gardens will include a pond with recirculating stream, paved trails, a nature center with gift shop and, of course, beautiful gardens.

The gardens will be located on the banks of the St. Lucie River’s north fork.

Members of the Friends of the Gardens meet the second Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at the Port St. Lucie Community Center, 2195 S.E. Airoso Blvd.  Information on becoming a member, and the benefits membership entails, can also be found on the Web site at www.pslbotanicalgardens.org.
