Special events

The City of Port St. Lucie is proud to provide its residents and visitors with many fun and interesting things to do and places to visit. Please note that all dates listed below are subject to change. We recommend you check our Web site's calendar before attending any event, as the Web calendar will contain the most current information about a particular event.

Community Garage Sale

Date(s): Third Saturday of every month
Time(s): 8 a.m. to noon
Location: Minsky Gym
Cost: $6.40 to rent a table to sell your treasures.
Free admission for shopping only.

Event info: Find a bargain at this great monthly event or reserve a parking spot and unload all of your unwanted "treasures." Event is free to shoppers. Vendors pay only $6.40 per parking spot (in advance of the garage sale) to reserve a spot.

After 5 LIVE!

Date(s): The second Friday of every month (date may change if holiday falls on the second Friday).
Time(s): 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. (January through May)
5:30 to 9 p.m. (June through August)
5:30 to 8:30 p.m. (September through December)
Location: Civic Center, Village Square
Cost: Free admission

Event info: Unwind at the end of a busy week with this free monthly concert series that includes live music, a classic car and bike show, arts and crafts, food vendors and much more.

Green Market

Date(s): Fridays, beginning Sept. 24, 2010
Time(s): 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: Civic Center, Village Square
Cost: Free admission for shoppers
Vendors pay $20 in advance for a 10 foot by 10 foot spot; $25 on the day of the market

Art Gallery

Gallery hours: Open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Art Gallery is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Artist Receptions: Held the opening night of each new exhibition.

Event info: The Civic Center is home to a 2,000-square-foot Art Gallery that offers local and regional artists a professional venue in which to display their creations. The exhibits, which rotate approximately every six weeks, bring new life and vitality to the Art Gallery and expose visitors to new techniques, ideas and the beauty of all varieties of art. On the opening night of each new exhibit, an artists reception is held with refreshments, live music and an opportunity to meet and greet the featured artist.

After the Bell

Date(s): Held on days that public schools are closed (with the exception of city-wide holidays such as Thanksgiving day when all city offices/buildings are closed)
Time(s): 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Location: Civic Center, Gameroom and Gymnasium
Cost: $14.35 per child

Event info: For children ages 6 to 15, this program provides a place for children to play on public school scheduled days off. Activities will include: arts and crafts, sports, gameroom events and more. Lunch and snacks are not provided so please bring your own. Children will be divided and placed in age appropriate groups. Pre-registration is required as space is limited.

Freedomfest

Time(s): Freedomfest: 2 p.m. Fireworks: 9 p.m.

Event info: Port St. Lucie's celebration of our nation and community, Freedomfest is the Parks and Recreation Department's most popular event. Freedomfest begins with live bands, food and refreshments, games and activities for kids and families, arts and crafts vendors and much more and culminates in a dramatic fireworks display, which begins at 9 p.m., weather permitting.

Oktoberfest

Date(s): Friday, October 1 and Saturday, October 2
Time(s): Friday—5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday—Noon to 10 p.m.
Location: Civic Center
Cost: Free admission and free parking

Event info: This event is held outdoors in Village Square at the Civic Center and is co-produced by the German American Club of the Treasure Coast and the City of Port St. Lucie. The festival includes live German music, authentic German food and beer, and activities the whole family will enjoy. This annual event is one of Port St. Lucie’s most well-attended and popular, so don’t miss your opportunity to be part of the fun.
