FREEDOMFEST JULY 4TH CELEBRATION
Day/Date:  Friday, July 4, 2008
Time: 10 a.m. – Parade and Firecracker Mile Run; 11 a.m. - Festivities in the park; 9 p.m. – fireworks – weather    permitting
Location:  Lyngate Park
Ages:  All ages welcome
Fee:  No Fee!!!                  
Join in on the most popular event offered by the City of Port St. Lucie’s Parks & Recreation Department. Freedomfest is how Port St. Lucie celebrates its pride in our nation and our community. The celebration kicks off with the Firecracker Mile foot race along Veteran’s Memorial Parkway, directly followed by the Freedomfest Parade. As the parade concludes, daylong Freedomfest celebrations begins in Lyngate Park with live bands, food and refreshments, games and activities for kids and families, arts & crafts vendors and much, much more. Freedomfest culminates with the areas largest and most dramatic fireworks display beginning at 9 p.m. weather permitting.  For more information please call 344-4021.

FREEDOMFEST RUN

Time: Registration starts at 8:30a.m. Waldon Woods -  Pre-registration at Minsky Gym before July 4th
The first 100 runners to register will receive a free shirt.  Call Marvin at (772) 344-4017 for more information.
Location: Veteran’s Memorial Parkway
This one-mile run begins at 9:30AM
Fee: 13 yrs and under $5.25
14 yrs and older $10.50

Brick Marker Program
(Ages All)
The Memorial Brick Program is a very special, yet limited, opportunity for citizens of the City of Port St. Lucie to memorialize their loved ones.  This program allows the public to purchase specially engraved decorative bricks that will be placed in the circular walkway located within the remembrance garden area.  Order forms are available at the Port St. Lucie Community Center or call (772)878-2277

Community Garage Sale

PSLIVING

The City of Port St. Lucie has launched a new weekly TV magazine show called “PSLiving”. The 30-minute TV program features: Short recap of the most recent City Council meeting.
News coverage of city events and activities.
Updates on city programs and services.
Interviews with community leaders and department officials.
Special event calendar of upcoming festivals.
“PSLiving” is broadcast to Port St. Lucie citizens on the city’s government cable TV channel called PSL TV20 which is available to Comcast and Hometown cable subscribers.  The program is shown everyday at 6:00 a.m. 12 Noon and 6:00 p.m.  For more information you may e-mail Ed Cunningham at ecunningham@cityofpsl.com.
