REGISTRATION AND GENERAL INFORMATION
Americans with Disabilities Act
This landmark civil rights legislation went into effect January 26, 1992. It is a significant step forward in the effort to make our society’s services and opportunities fully available to all Americans by combating barriers and prejudices that confront those of us with special challenges and needs. The City of Port St. Lucie is committed to implementing the intent and spirit of this legislation. Those who may need assistance in order to enjoy our programs should contact the office, so we may arrange for the assistance.

Refund Policies on Registration Procedures
Your satisfaction is important to us. All refund requests will be considered on a case by case basis. Requests must be submitted in writing within 30 days of the 1st class meeting date for a class that meets more than once. If a registrant cancels after the start of the second meeting date, no refunds will be given. If the City cancels a program or class, refunds will be issued. Refunds for Kids Day Out Camp, Spring Break Camp and Holiday Camp as well as Summer Camp and Teen Camp will be charged 25% of the total program cost. A refund under $25 that has been approved will be reimbursed in the office during the hours of 8 A.M. - 5 P.M. Monday – Friday. Refunds over $25 will be reimbursed by check and may take up to three weeks to process and may be picked up in the office between 8 am - 5 p.m. or mailed to your address. Any refunds that have applicable sales tax will be refunded by the Finance department and will take up to three weeks.
Parents!
Please, do not ask to have your child put in a class he/she does not belong in. All age requirements are set to benefit the children and to make instruction easier for the program leader. On some instances, age requirements have been set for your child’s safety. Thank you for your cooperation.
Classes Cancelled
All Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed and all classes are cancelled on City Holidays. Some classes are cancelled on school holidays. Please ask your instructor or call the office if you have a question.
“Oh, no! You had to cancel it?”
Sorry, but sometimes excellent courses with super instructors are cancelled if everyone waits until the last minute to register. We make a decision approximately three days prior to a course start date to allow for proper preparations. Minimum class numbers must be registered at that time to avoid cancellation. Please register early to avoid disappointment for yourself, others, and the instructor.
Registration Policy
Registration for many of our recreation activities may be done at the Port St. Lucie Community Center Located at 2195 Airoso Blvd, across from City Hall or the Minsky Gymnasium located at 750 SW Darwin Blvd. Please note that some of our programs, (Summer Camp, Neighborhood Playground, Park Reservations) can only be registered for at the PSL Community Center. If we do not have enough registrations to hold a class or program, we reserve the right to cancel or postpone it. All registered participants will be notified and given a complete refund if the program is cancelled. Once a program is full, registrations will be closed.
To ensure your participation in a program, contact the office in order to determine registration procedures. No phone registrations will be accepted. Pre-registration is suggested, as most of our classes are limited in size. We accept cash, money orders and checks made out to the City of Port St. Lucie. At this time we do not accept credit cards for payment.
Policy on Registration Procedures
Our policy limits registration to one outside family unit plus their own family members. This will apply to all applicable programs and classes.
This would mean that someone who is not a guardian of the participant could sign up one additional person or family. This way, persons who are not able to attend the date of actual registration could have a friend sign up the child or children. A parent or guardian however, would be required to come in and sign the waiver before the beginning of class.
