The State of Florida's local government comprehensive planning law, Chapter 163, Part 2, Florida Statutes (F.S.), requires that all counties and municipalities throughout Florida maintain long-range comprehensive planning programs. The comprehensive plan is the foundation for local planning as it acts as an outline of the community's vision and priorities.
