Public invited to learn about Biotech
In an effort to educate residents and business owners about how the biotech industry will shape the area’s future, Port St. Lucie’s Planning and Zoning Department is co-sponsoring The Research Coast’s Second Annual Biotech Conference on April 3 at Tradition Town Hall in western Port St. Lucie.
Open to the public, the event will include discussions on how biotech companies affect local businesses, and other issues. With the Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies research facility opening later this year in Tradition, business owners can learn how to take advantage of changes in the local economy. The Alfred E. Mann Institute and the Oregon Health and Sciences University’s Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute also will move to Port St. Lucie soon.
The event is free and open to the public on Thursday, April 3. A “mix & mingle” hour will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the conference will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
