On July 27, 2016 at around 10:45 pm, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office located William Raymond Blanchard at a rest stop on I-95 in Brevard County. Mr. Blanchard was found to be in good health. The Port St. Lucie Police Department would like to thank all who assisted in the safe recovery of Mr. Blanchard.

Police investigating smash and grab auto burglaries

Port St. Lucie Police are investigating 11 reported smash and grab car burglaries that occurred in public parking lots in the Eastern Region of the city.   Reports taken from victims indicate that the burglaries occurred primarily in the afternoon/late evening hours between 6/27/2016-7/7/2016. Port St. Lucie Police are investigating a Traffic Crash that occurred at the intersection of SW Bayshore Blvd. and SW Lakehurst Dr.

July 8, 2016

On Thursday, July 7, 2016, at approximately 3:00 pm, the Port St. Lucie Police Department responded to the intersection of SW Bayshore Blvd. and SW Lakehurst Dr. to investigate a traffic crash involving a motorcycle. The motorcyclist was traveling northbound on SW Bayshore Blvd., when a vehicle traveling southbound on SW Bayshore Blvd. attempted to make a u-turn at SW Lakehurst Dr. The driver collided into the motorcycle, and the motorcyclist, a male in his 40s, was critically injured. He was not wearing a helmet. Police are currently on scene and are investigating. The motorcyclist was transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center with critical injuries. Police have shut down northbound SW Bayshore Blvd. at SW Lakehurst Dr. and are re-routing traffic at this time.

On June 7, 2016, Port St. Lucie Police arrested Donald Stickens III, and Walter Parks for robbery with a firearm, grand theft, and possession of Marijuana over 20 grams. Police also arrested Christopher Grant for robbery with a firearm, grand theft, possession of firearm by convicted felon, and possession of Marijuana over 20 grams after the three teens robbed the victim of his Marijuana. **Update** Police Stand-Off in Port St. Lucie

May 10, 2016

On May 9, 2016 shortly after 4:00 pm, Port St. Lucie Police went to the 1100 block of SE Walton Lakes Drive for reports of a man with a gun. Police learned that the man had shot his gun off in the development and is threatening “suicide by cop”. Police have blocked off the entrance to the Harbour Palms complex due to public safety. Police SWAT officers and negotiators are on scene attempting to resolve the situation with the man. Police are asking members of the public to avoid the area of Walton and Village Green Drive.

UPDATE: During the course of the standoff, Port St. Lucie Police Crisis Negotiators attempted to have the barricaded subject identified as 61 year old Glen Thornton Myers (900 block of SE Pinewood Trail, Port St. Lucie) surrender to police. After several hours of negotiations, Port St. Lucie Police SWAT team deployed CS gas into the residence located in the 900 block of SE Pine Trail. Myers still refused to come out of his residence.

On May 9, 2016 at around 11:50 pm, after nearly 8 hours of negotiations, the SWAT team made entry into the residence. SWAT officers located Myers in the bathroom of the apartment and subsequently deployed a taser to subdue him. Myers was then taken into custody ending the standoff. Several residents who were unable to enter the complex during the incident were allowed to return home.
