Citizen Police Academy Overview
The purpose of this class is to give the participant an orientation about the history of the police department including organizational structure, mission, organizational values and beliefs. The participant will receive information on the leadership philosophy, organizational strategy, including the community survey, and community policing.
OBJECTIVES:

The participant will gain an understanding about the history of the Department, including why it was formed and why it exists.

The participant will receive information on the Department's organizational structure, including a brief description of each component.

The participant will receive information on the Department's mission, organizational values and beliefs, including a brief description of our recruitment and hiring philosophy.

The participant will develop an understanding of the Department's leadership philosophy and management practices.

The participant will gain an understanding of the Department's organizational strategy, including a brief overview of community policing and the purpose and results of the community survey.

The participant will enter into a discussion on their beliefs and expectations of the police department, including feedback on the Department's current philosophy and organizational strategy.
