Port St. Lucie Police hosting Bike Rodeo and Child Bicycle Safety Event Dec. 9
The Port St. Lucie Police Department will hold a children’s bike rodeo and child bicycle safety event on Sunday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Superplay USA, 1600 NW. Courtyard Circle.
Officers will give away a limited number of free bicycles and nearly 1,000 free bicycle helmets to children under the age of 16. Along with the giveaway, there will be a bike safety course taught by police officers and an informational session given by Dr. Kenneth Palestrant, M.D. on the importance of helmet use.
The majority of bicycles that will be given away are unclaimed bicycles coming from the police department’s evidence section.
