Hurricane Preparedness Expo set for Saturday, May 24
The City of Port St. Lucie’s second annual Hurricane Preparedness Expo will be held at the Port St. Lucie Community Center on Saturday, May 24, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Expo will provide residents with a wealth of information on how to prepare for the upcoming hurricane season and where to get assistance after the storm has passed. Sixty-eight vendors and sponsors will demonstrate products and services, and WPTV Channel 5 Chief Meteorologist Steve Weagle will answer questions and greet visitors.
It will be a family event with a bounce house, double slide, face painting, balloons, music, food, giveaways, and free raffles. Across the street from the Expo the Humane Society and Port St Lucie Animal Control will provide micro chip identification and pet licenses (only special needs animals will be allowed inside the Community Center).
This event has something for everyone in the family, and everyone who attends will be given a free raffle ticket for valuable prizes. Call 871-7307 for more information.
