PSL’s Emergency Management Coordinator to join Channel 5 Meteorologist Steve Weagle at Awareness, Fundraising Event
Port St. Lucie’s Emergency Management Coordinator Don Freedland will join WPTV Channel 5 Chief Meteorologist Steve Weagle Tuesday when the popular weatherman’s ninth annual fundraising bicycle tour stops near the City for a live broadcast.
Weagle’s tour is intended to educate residents on preparing for hurricane season, and to raise money for the American Red Cross. He will stop at Norris’ Famous Place for Ribs at 6598 South U.S. Highway 1 and interview Don Freedland, the City’s Public Works Director and Emergency Management Coordinator. Freedland will explain how government agencies and various organizations work together, and what the city has done to prepare for the 2008 season.
The City encourages local residents to come out and show support for hurricane preparation awareness as Weagle and Freedland bring attention to an important subject. The broadcast begins at 5:15 p.m. in front of the restaurant.
